White Hat Hacking

1.What you know about the topic before your research:
I guess I don't know much about white hat hacking, I can infer that obviously, it is a type of hacking. 

2.What you wonder or questions you have about the topic before researching:
- What is White Hat Hacking?
-Why is that the name?
-Can anyone do it?
-What are the tools you need to succeed in white hat hacking? 

3.Links to where you found the most useful information 
-This link was very useful because it gave me the basic knowledge I needed to understand white hat hacking. It's not very detailed, but it gives you the right amount of information and quickly.
-This link, was WAY more detailed then the other and I learned more about the hackers, what they do, and why they do it. 
-This link explained HOW they do white hackers. I liked how at the beginning it said " The term hacker may be used to describe people who steal information from computers, but that's just the dark side of the story." Because I used to think that a hacker would only like get into computers and steal information.
-This link was very interesting because you really learn WHO are the hackers.

-Not all hackers are "bad"! There are people called White Hat Hackers who look at some of the "weakness" of a website and exposes it so that the website can fix it and improve it's security.

-White Hat Hackers are legal, some of them work privately and some of them may even work for companies.

-There are also people who are called Black Hat Hackers and they are like the enemies of the White Hat Hackers, like the ones that do bad hacking.

-There are some famous White Hat Hackers, for example Robert Hansen aka Rsnake.

-The term White Hat Hackers come from The Western Movies where the good guy usually wears a white cowboy hat.

-Some Whit Hackers call the owners of the website so they know that there is something wrong with it, and sometimes they do it anonymously by just leaving a message on the website.

-A short summary of how this topic connects/relates to you or your life:

This topic connects to my life because now i know that not all hackers are bad and that there are good sides to hacking. Learning about this topic made me realize how ANYONE can access your information and that the internet is not safe. Hacking is so easy for some people and even if it's hacking for a good purpose and for improving security, the hackers access the website and maybe look at personal information. I need to be more careful while using my computer.

College Exploration on Naviance

Two colleges that interest you that you know about right now:
-Georgetown University, I went there with my mom and my sister this summer and I thought it was literally PERFECT. I loved it because first of all the people were so nice, the dorms were beautiful and it gives you so many opportunities for the future.
-North Eastern University, the campus is so beautiful and it offer a lot of activities and classes that I would love to take.

Find two colleges you have never heard of but that interest you and write those on your blog:
Boston University: 
First of all it is in Boston, so that means I would be happy with the weather and location (I know Boston is really cold but I like cold weather.) Also, it has a large campus (and a really pretty, I looked at pictures.)  The SAT's scores are also not that important and the average is not THAT high (1880.)  Adding to that, It has a very large amount of students, I like that because it means you get to meet a lot of new people and also from all over the world. All of these things make it a University I really like.\

George Washington University: 
In this school they accept 37% of students so its not like Harvard (6%). It also offers so many activities that are really cool and the campus is really big, it even has its own Hospital. This University would be great to get into!

Write your GPA on your blog from first quarter. Now, list under that, the average GPA needed to get into all 4 of those colleges with the college name next to each. Where do you stand? What do you need to do to have a chance of getting into these schools?

My GPA is 3.6, this average is below ALL of the universities I want to go as you can see in the chart above. I need to make even more of an effort in EVERY classs that I can even consider applying.

Summarize what you learned from this experience and tell how it will affect your habits as a student.

I learned that Universities are a very big deal and that they are NOT easy. This is so stressful but I learned how I can improve and that I have to do it if I want to apply and go to the college of my dreams.  Literally I want to take every AP possible and get more involved in school ASAP. 

Google Day #3

3 goals for the day are:

*Finish putting our project together (final editing and perfecting) 

*Edit the parts were we cloned ourselves (the lighting looks bad because we filmed both sides at different times of the day)

*Manage to edit a weird hole in when we film, so we want to fix that in the imovie. 

*When we overlapped the images, there is always a part were the color of the image is different and it looks unprofessional, so we need to fix that ASAP.

Today we didn't use many links because we already filmed all of our project and we also added all of the effects that we wanted to. But the youtube videos were SO helpful, without them our project would be less sophisticated and just using simple  boring effects. 

The few links we used were:

-This link, on step one says " Be sure that the subject does not cross over the midpoint -- or the point where you plan to mix the two sides." This changed everything, well we were crossing the midpoint sometimes, and this made the light, and subjects look messed up.

One thing that you want to learn next Google day:

Sadly, this was our last Google day. But on the bright side, we learned so many skills and really cool ways of manipulating the program "iMovie." This program is actually very easy to use and that was very surprising because when I didn't know how to use it it was just one of those things on your computer that you have no clue what it is. Now, I can use it so easily and quickly. I can't believe I hadn't learnt how to use this program, it is so useful for school and also for fun or making like a birthday video to a friend. 

Google Day #4

3 Goals for the Day:
-How to properly work with green screen 
-How to lip sync really precisely so that it looks perfect
-How to change the color of imovie frequently so it look really professional and also cool 

Links with description of why they are useful to your goals:
*This video was very helpful because it showed how you can BUILD your own green screen instead of having to buy a really expensive one, or just using the green screen effect on that the programs provides for you that sometimes may have a lot of small resolution problems.  
*Once we've already build our green screen THIS video showed us in like 3 easy steps how to use it without having to be a professional, it was just a very clear, straight forward video so I think that now I have that skill mastered and building/ using our own green screen will be fun... and easy.
*A video that wasn't in my goals, but i encountered was THIS one, and it is using green screen too! 
*THIS video show me precisely how to lip sync, so we are adding this to our music video. This is part one, part two is HERE.
*The last video I saw was THIS one, and it is about how to use colors in your imovie.

Evidence of what you learned or learned to do and a description of your new knowledge or skills:
The thing I understood the most, and I thought it was the coolest effect, is cloning yourself! I always saw this in movies and wondered how they did it.So I can show you that I learned it by teaching you how to do it. So the first step is to record to videos WITH THE SAME LIGHTING because if not half of the video will look darker and half of it will look lighter so make sure you don't move the camera. After that you have to import your videos to imovie. The third step, is to  overlay both videos, in the order that you imported them. Next, you'll notice that the cloning isn't done, so you go to the video and click it and on the left corner, there is a box that says "cropping" so you click on that and cop one of the sides of the video and click  done! YOU ARE DONE :) 

One thing that you want to learn next Google day:
Next Google day we want to put the video together. Since we already filmed all of our footage, we want to put EVERYTHING together and finish adding the skills we learned today therefor creating the most professional video ever made haha. We also need to fix a lot of little problems we've had like sometimes the lip syncing looks weird, but with the tutorial I saw today I know how to fix that. 

Google Day #2

Google 20% Project Day 2:

Today we decided to change the song we're going to do in the music video. So, our
3 goals for the day are:
*How to overlap music in imovie 
*How to incorporate video and text 
*How to overlay videos

Links with description of why they are useful to your goals:
-How to overlay videos (REALLY HELPFUL) because we could put a picture with another picture on top and it added a very "professional" effect to the video
-Overlapping Audio :)  With the help of this video we managed to add two sound effects at the same time and you can change the volume of each one.
-How to manipulate text in iMovie  Very helpful tips on how to use text 
-Using green screen effect
^this video was helpful but when we did it, our video was very low quality 

Evidence of what you learned or learned to do and a description of your new knowledge or skills:
Today we added overlayed videos, overlapped music and a very interesting map where we could add the location and the map moved... so cool. At first, I couldn't overlay videos, but then a comment on the video said you needed to change the preferences to advanced. So I did. After that you need to add a video/ image and then add one on top by dragging it. After that, a menu will apear and you select "cut" and after that you change the opacity so that you are able to see both images. After that you are done! To overlap text, you just drag it on top of the other, click on custumize and change the volume of one of them so it doesn't sound weird. 

*The green tabs, are sound effects and music
*The Map is the moving map that shows our location of where we filmed each part of the video
*At the end, are the two overlaying images and in the bottom, the overlapped sound effects.


One thing that you want to learn next Google day:
Next Google day I want to learn how to work with the "green screen" effect and a very important thing, how to properly lip sync on iMovie.
These two things are especially important since we are doing a music video. The videos we watched about the green screen would make the image look like if it was a very bad quality even if it wasn't so we want to improve our green screen skill.

What is the website for?
This website is really usefull if you like making lists and keep track of everything you need for an event. For example if you are having a Pool Party and you don't want to bring all the food, you can make an online list and invite people to join it and bring some food.

For example: I made a Pool Party Event and it looks like this:

If people click on "Slot Me" then they would compromise on bringing that specific food on that date.

How to make a Sheet?
1.Open a new tab on your explorer
2.A black, orange and white website will come up
3.On the bottom in the center, there are 3 icons: facebook, google and mail, choose the one you want to sign on to.
4.On the left corner you will see a tab that says "Create a Sheet"
5.A new screen will pop-up saying "Create a new sheet" so there you add the title of your even and a description of what the event is, what you will do etc. Then it asks you to put the number of puppies you see, so you do that and click on create.
6.Then it will say:

For each person who signs up, I want to capture

so, what do you want the info of the person who sign up to bring something say? So you choose the option you like the best. 

7.Then you need to add the date of your event, if you clik on no date, then it will take you to the next step but if you click on "one or more specific dates" then you add a date and click the plus sign for as many dates as you want and click done.

Click yes if you want to add the time, if not just click Next.

that will come of you you wanted to add time slots, just add the time and click the plus sign.

10. Then a screen like this will show up and you add the item for example "Coke" 

11.After adding the item a screen with clear instructions will come up and you just fill in the blacks.

Above you saw my example of a way I used this site in the Pool Party Event.

Other students may use it for class parties, for presentations (like who brings a poster, who brings markers) and like that you never forget the things you need to do or bring. This website is easy and fun to work with. 

Digital Nation

Agreements:
1. No one supervises what you do on the Internet at home, you could do anything and no one would ever know!
2.While we use computers we are like in another world because we're there physically but not mentally.
3.We don't actually have vacations now because we're always checking news/ chatting with friends who are not there.
4.We are procrastinators because of the Internet because we use it while studying and we waste time.
5. Internet can be an diction because we want more and more of it, like on Face Book we keep refreshing the news feed even though we know there is nothing new.
6.Internet Camp is good for addicts, it makes them realize what they are missing by being inside.
7. To avoid addiction we need to be taught since we are little how to manage our time on the Internet.
8. Teenagers just know how to use technology! We are never taught anything we just explore it and learn from it.
9. We are more interested in class if we are using technology, it becomes boring if not.
10. We should embrace the technology we have. I mean think about it... technology is amazing.
11. Walking into a class with no media is like walking into a desert, its true it feels like we are in another world when there is no technology around us.
12. People are using the internet irresponsibly, like the woman that quit her job because she wanted to play a game!

Disagreements:
1. They shouldn't allow computers all class, it should be like only 30 min because if not, we just don't focus completely.
2.The Internet keeps us from living a normal life. I disagree because this doesn't happen if we know how to manage it.
3."Technology is line oxygen" That is a bit exaggerated, we need to learn how to live without the Internet.
4.Our writ ting skills do not suffer because of technology, the other way around! They are enriched.
5.Books will never go away! They are precious and new generations need to appreciate them.
6.Meeting people on Internet games is not good! People can be whoever they want on the Internet, but not on real life! We need to socialize, not be on the computer.
7. People can't multitask, its very hard and you cant give your 100 percent into one thing, you just do all the things you are doing at the same time badly.
8. "Height affects your negotiation skills" I disagree completely, not just because you are tall does that mean that you have a better chance of being successfully, that's ridiculous.
